Piven Theatre Workshop is a renowned theater and acting school in Evanston, Illinois with a strong emphasis on community and outreach. Their aesthetic is colorful and playful, while retaining a level of sophistication. Every season I find new ways to use Piven’s signature “torn paper” element, from origami to hand-painted paper to photo collage using paper textures. The key is to create subtle visual distinctions between all the different programs that Piven offers.
